A Letter to College Students

Dear College Student,

The ministry here at Springs of Grace & One Hope exists to glorify Jesus Christ

  • by making much of Him in everything
  • by doing what He has sent us to do
  • and by loving the people He has given us to love.

The intern ministry is a double edged weapon in that task. Interns help us make much of Jesus by loving the people He has given to love, many of whom are like the people Jesus invited to the banquet, unable to give anything back. The people involved in this ministry are improbable champions in the battle to take down the giants of poverty, personal and institutional racism, educational dysfunction, family disintegration, moral perversion, and heretical views of God, salvation, and life; but we believe these are the people God has given us to love. The interns also become people the Father has given us to love so we strive to equip, pray for, model urban ministry to, and share the community of faith with each and every one of them.

It is my prayer that God would give you the mission this summer of pouring out His life in you here in Tulsa. There are two big qualifications. We want people who are growing in making much of Jesus in everything as the greatest treasure in all of life and we desire interns who will ask the Lord’s help in loving the kind of people God has given us to love.

If you are interested in this internship, please contact our program coordinators and we will be happy to answer any questions you have and pray with you about this internship.

– Pastor Joe Blankenship
